Hello, deviant art. I just got done watching the Justice League fan film edited together by SouperboyX, and, as promised, I'd type up a review. Believe me when I say this is one of the best fan edit films out there. So, let's get into why that is. Warning: THERE WILL BE SPOILERS, so please watch it before you read this.

To start off, I like the fact that it doesn't start out as disaster. Okay, it does, but it's a foreshadow of things to come later in the film. One thing most would notice about SouperboyX's fan films is that they feel like real films, and this one was no different. One of the best things is that feels like something you'd see in a theater. Another thing to note is that, much like AListproduction's JLA, is that it does deal with the government against the heroes, but this time it's under a false president, which is a disguised Brainiac (James Marsters). I also like the fact that they're dealing with more then just one threat. In addition to facing Krypton's destroyer, they also face Lex (Michael Rosenbaum), who surprisingly doesn't have much to do in the film, but still a good amount and the Suicide Squad, which is at Smallville's Checkpoint.

Another thing I enjoyed is that it explains that the team is meeting for the first time, for the most part, so they have to learn about one another. One particular example is a short fight scene between Batman and Green Arrow. This is something I hope Man of Steel 2 takes note of: Have Batman and Superman learn about each other and start out as rivals, but grow into allies. One thing I should note is that the film's start seems like they knew each other, but that didn't turn out to be the case.  One thing that should be noted is the fact that he explained their origins with out lead ups, which he handled quite well. He put them during scenes where they get hit with tranquilizers. Heck, he even showed Lex's back story later on.

Of course, one of the absolute best things about it is the editing. It was similar to AList's in the fact that he put the heroes in the same scene. Another feat that he did is putting Tom Welling in the Superman costume, even in scenes where you couldn't see Superman's face. During one of the final fights, with footage from the Dark Knight Rises when Batman first fought Bane, he replaces Bane with a Terminator, which is to represent one of Brainiac's minions. There were other impressive edits, but those stuck out to me the most.

The last thing I want to discuss is how it holds up against AListProduction's Justice League fan film. Since you all know my thoughts on that fan film, it will come to no surprise that this one was better to me. Don't get me wrong, both YouTubers are great editors, but SouperBoyX's beats his in my opinion. I wasn't too mad that the original 7 weren't used in AList's but it did get me miffed at the end where two of the original 7, Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter, appeared at the end and it saying that they came out of hiding. The final fight was better as well in SouperBoyX's, namely because the villains put up one heck of a fight, to were it becomes an all out war. I know it's different because lead ups were edited by AList himself for his Justice League film, so the team knowing each other wasn't surprising, but Zatana, who cameos at the end, barley did anything, as did Chloe Sullivan. Don't get me started on Darkseid's end. Also, while the Pirate's of the Caribbean music is used a lot, it doesn't play over any of the action scenes. So, yes, I did like SouperBoyX's better, but that doesn't take away from AList's talent as an editor.

So, is there anything I didn't like? Well, no, but I do have some minor nick picks. One is that Wonder  Woman and Martian Manhunter didn't do as much as I'd thought they would, but this only happens at the middle of the film. Afterwards, they're in full action in helping the team fight off the invasion. Also, Sinestro and Joker are added in as cameos, but don't do much. I do have speculations that since Joker helps Lex escape ans Sinestro puts on the yellow ring that it will lead into a sequel, but I may be wrong on that. Same can be said for Zatana's cameo. The POTC music isn't a complaint as stated above. I didn't mind the knocked out scenes and liked that they showed the origins of the characters, Lex's did drag on a bit too long for my liking. Once again, these are just nit picks, nothing major that dragged the film down.

All in all, this is a great fan edit film. The editing, use of the characters, story ect, are all excellent It gives us the on thing that we've been hoping Warner Bros., DC, Syncopy and Dune Entertainment will do. They will, but for not another four years, so until then, we have this. I also liked that he gave a loving memory to Heath Ledger and Lee Thompson Young after the end credits. If you want to see it, I'll put a link to the video that will lead you to Vimeo, where the film is up in 9 parts. You can also down load the full thing. So, thanks for reading and the link will be in the description
